Course Overview:
To equip clinicians with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage effectively through the process required to ensure patients safety is maintained in relation to the management of Enteral Feeding Tubes placed via Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) according to best-practice.
Upon completion of this course, participants will receive a Certificate of Attainment.

- Understand the basic anatomy of the gastrointestinal tract
- Enteral Feeding Definition
- Indications for PEG feeding tube
- The different types of enteral nutrition feeding tubes, equipment and administration methods
- Care of PEG site
- Management of complications (including how to recognise and respond to complications)
- Management and method of PEG feeding
- Management of enteral tube, stoma and care of the equipment
- Infection prevention and control
- Administering medication via the enteral route
